Alan H. Ross, 79, a longtime resident of Paoli, passed away on April 13, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia (Rusnak), his sister, Marilyn Ross Bradford (George), his sister, Janet Ross Hern (David), five nephews and nieces, thirteen great-nephews and nieces, and a host of cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold G. Ross and Ursula (Donahue) Ross.
Alan grew up in Utica, New York, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, the graduate business school at Boston College, and the law school of Villanova University. After law school, he began his career as an attorney with law firms specializing in insurance defense in Philadelphia. He also served as a judge pro tem arbitrating civil cases. Alan was admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the local federal courts, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Aside from his law practice, Alan was an active member of the St. Thomas More Society and the Knights of Columbus, served his community of Tredyffrin Township in its cable television programming, and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Norbert Parish in Paoli. He and Tricia traveled throughout the world and spent much time at his family’s second home in New York’s Adirondack Mountains.
Visitation will be held at St. Norbert’s Church at 6 Greenlawn Road, Paoli, on Monday, April 21st, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2025 Old Gulph Road, Villanova.
