Anthony J. D'Ambrosio, Sr. "Tony" 81 of Springfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Anthony was born in Philadelphia, on January 11, 1939 to Serafino and Sofia. He was a graduate of Overbrook High School. Tony was an operating engineer for Local 542. He was a master mechanic, operated heavy machinery, and was indispensable to his employers. He loved his wife, Marie, his children Melissa (Ron), Anthony (Emily), Nicole (Don). He had 6 grandchildren who he loved immensely, Ronnie, Brandon, Carly, his only granddaughter, Anthony, Matthew, and Christopher. His nieces, Bridget and Kristin, who affectionately called him Dadoo, were also like daughters to him.
He is also survived by his siblings, sisters, Mary (Lou), Angela (Steve), brothers Fred (Sue) and Nick (Kitten) who predeceased him. He is also survived by loving sisters-in-law, a brother -in-law and many nieces and nephews. He had many friends who he loved. He was a kind, generous, giving man who loved his family endlessly. He was a gentleman always and he would do anything for anybody. In his free time he loved tinkering in the garage and basement. He never really relaxed or sat around. There was always something to be done, someone to help. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and the ultimate Villanova football fan! He was a leader, mentor, and role model. He was always smiling and happy. We will miss him every day! We love you always!
