Catherine M (Daly) Arellano

Catherine M. Arellano (Kay) (nee Daly) passed away peacefully at home on January 08, 2023, surrounded by her family.  Catherine was born in Milmont Park to the late John and Catherine Spanier Daly on June 19.  She moved to Philadelphia, along with her siblings (the late Jack Daly and the late Dolores Dorazo) after the death of her parents to live with her paternal grandmother.  She graduated from Most Blessed Sacrament and West Catholic High School for girls. 

Catherine married her high school sweetheart, Fidel Arellano, at age17, Together they enjoyed 68 years of married life, raising 5 children and their granddaughter.

Catherine is survived by her beloved husband, Fidel P. Arellano, loving mother to Christine Moriarty (Patrick) of West Chester, PA , Stephen of Jesup, GA, Mark (Jeanette) of Parkside, PA, and Jennifer of Prospect Park, PA; granddaughter Nancy (Nick) DellaRocco of Folsom, PA, grandsons, Brian Blizzard of West Chester, PA and David Arellano of New Castle, DE; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 grandchildren. Catherine was pre-deceased by her daughter, Denise Cassidy.

Catherine enjoyed spending time with her family at the Jersey shore, the Phillies, reading, doing puzzles and gardening. She worked in retail for many years, she enjoyed being the head msnager od the plant department at Frank's Nursery and Crafts.
