Cynthia J. Colona

Cynthia “Cindy" Colona passed away at the age of 63 peacefully in her home supported by her direct care
staff and friends. Cindy called Melmark home for 50 years. Cindy was predeceased by her parents and
sister, who loved her dearly, as well as her best friend and longtime roommate, Karen.

During her time at Melmark, Cindy spent many years at the Meadows program where she liked to play
the water glasses, knit, and spend time with her best friend and housemate, Karen C. Over the years
Cindy transitioned programs but her creativity continued to flourish through her love of  knitting,
painting, and participating in any activity that included her favorite color, green. Cindy would often knit
or paint items completely green and proudly display them. She had a keen fashion sense and always was
very stylish when attending all events like community outings and holiday celebrations.  Later in life
Cindy transitioned again with her best friend Karen again by her side. There, she spent her time playing
games, coloring, and laughing with her friends.

Cindy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
