Helen G. Reynolds

Helen Groppenbacher Reynolds, 91, passed away at home on June 22, 2026.

Born on December 28, 1934, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Helen was the second of three daughters born to Matthew and Theresa Groppenbacher, who immigrated from Germany. She graduated from St. Katherine of Siena High School in Wayne in 1952 and dedicated approximately 32 years of service to Crane and Company, where she built a respected career and ultimately retired as Office Manager.

Helen treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and doted on her great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in each of their accomplishments and milestones. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and caring for animals, both domestic and wild. A longtime member of St. Anastasia Church, Helen's faith was an important part of her life.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Lawrence Reynolds; her parents, Matthew and Theresa Groppenbacher; and her sisters, Theresa Krauthauser and Mary Huebner.

She is survived by her five sons: Stephen Smith (Lorraine), Rik Smith (Fran), Christopher Smith, David Smith (Kathy), and Erik Smith (Ilisha). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Lauren Pferdehirt (Brad), Matthew Smith (Genna), Kyle Smith (Hope), Andrew Smith (Cynthia Gallagher), Lauren Turner(Blake), Brian Smith, Bradley Smith, Jennifer Smith (Joseph Parent) and Jakob Smith; and seven great-grandchildren: Laine, Brant, Rory, and Quinn Pferdehirt; Sloane Smith; Connor Smith, and Brielle Gallagher. Helen is also survived by her dear friends and neighbors, Fran and Jane Mohr. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Helen's life at St. Anastasia Church, Newtown Square on Monday, June 29 at 10:00AM.

Interment to follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield PA
