Joan Helene (Woolery) Paulson 83, passed away on Saturday May 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia PA. She was the daughter of the late Matilda (Nitsch) and Andrew Woolery of Stone Harbor NJ.
Joan grew up in Prospect Park, PA with her parents and younger sister Nancy Weber and brother Ted Woolery. She graduated from Prospect Park high School in 1954 and went on to work various jobs at Ingersoll Rand and the FBI before meeting her future husband David V. Paulson on a blind date in 1965. They married shortly there after and raised their family in Broomall, Chester Springs, and Berwyn before retiring to Stone Harbor in 1993.
While spending most of her married years as a home maker, Joan enjoyed leading the Woman's Service Guild at Delaware County Christian School and working for her brother's pool company, PRC. Joan later turned her passion for rescuing vintage treasures into a business in 2008 when she opened up her shop "Oma Vintage" in Stone Harbor's business district.
She used this avenue to form many new friendships while sharing her love for her Lord and Savior. While her personal pursuits were important to her, Joan's greatest calling was the joy she found in spending time with her family and close friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years who passed away in 2017. She is survived by her two children, Stephanie Baka (Greg) of Richmond, VA and Andrew Paulson (Kristen) of Newtown Square, PA and her grandchildren, Victoria Baka, Matthew Baka, Nellie Paulson, Hazel Paulson, and Olive Paulson
