Marie Kinder Obituary

Marie Kinder, a devoted servant of God and a woman of unwavering faith, entered her eternal home surrounded by the love she poured so generously into others. She lived by her cherished motto — faith, family, friends — and embodied each word with sincerity, joy, and a heart full of grace.

Marie’s faith was the foundation of her life. A true prayer warrior, she lifted others up daily, believing deeply in God’s goodness and power. Her trust in the Lord was steady, her prayers constant, and her compassion for others endless.

Those who know Marie will forever remember her silly, upbeat, friendly, and joyful spirit. She had a gift for making people laugh, feel welcome, and most importantly, feel loved. Even through hardship, she never complained. Instead, she chose joy, gratitude, and a smile that could brighten any room.

Marie was also stubborn in the best way — strong‑willed, determined, and fiercely protective of those she loved. She fought cancer for years with courage, grace, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone around her. Athletic, energetic, and kind, she approached life with enthusiasm and heart, always giving her best to the people she cherished.

Throughout her years, Marie enjoyed leadership opportunities and was very involved in leading others in Pioneer Girls, being a camp counselor as well as teaching Sunday School when she got older. Marie enjoyed socializing with friends and family, going on adventures with her daughter Elizabeth,  reading books, laughing, being in nature, eating sweets, going to Cape May, shopping at the Hallmark card store for the perfect card, talking on the phone, playing board games, feeding her deer ( especially Rudy!), traveling around the world, teaching children, going to Starbucks for coffee and Panera's for some warm soup, and being hospitable. Everyone always felt welcome at her house. She is remembered for her kindness, joy, beautiful smile, and her dedication to God and her family and friends.

Marie was the loving mom every child wished they had growing up, and her children Elizabeth ( Karen ) Mabry, Brian Kinder and his girlfriend Li Kuang Li, step daughter Irene ( Robert) Snyder, and unofficially adopted son Brandon are blessed and so fortunate to have experienced her love while she was here on Earth.

She was a proud grandmother to Dashawn, Trejan, John, Jaime, Robert, and many great grandchildren.

Marie was very close with her siblings and is survived by her sister Joan (Mike) Garner, her brother Richard (Barb) Kaehne, and many nieces, nephews, and great‑nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She is also lovingly remembered by Peter Cook, a longtime companion who cared for her deeply and supported her faithfully for many years, standing by her side through life’s challenges and joys.

She is predeceased by her birth parents Marie Dibenidetto and Robert Grandfield, her mom Elizabeth Kaehne, her dad Robert Kaehne, her aunt Margaret Thomas, and her former husband Thomas Kinder.

Marie’s legacy is one of faith, resilience, joy, and love. She leaves behind a family who adored her and a community forever touched by her faith, her joy, her strength, and her example. Though she will be deeply missed, the light she carries continues to shine in Heaven as well as through the lives of each person she has touched. Her memory will remain a blessing, and her love will endure forever.

A memorial service honoring her blessed life will be held May 30, 2026 at Springfield Baptist Church,184  N Norwinden Drive, Springfield, PA 19064 at 11:30 am, followed by a luncheon at the church.
