Rita E. Bruno

Rita Bruno, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2023, in Springfield, PA at the age of 92.  Recently of Aston, Pa and formerly of Bellmawr, NJ she was born on December 28, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA.  Rita was a strong-willed but loving, kind and generous woman with an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. Her passing has left a void in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and pain free. 

Rita was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Bruno and her sisters Pauline DeSantis, Helen Pettia and Stella DiAngelo, all whom she now is joyfully reunited with in Heaven.  She is survived by her brother John Bruno, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Rita was a trailblazing female entrepreneur who started her own Tile Store in Pennsauken, NJ, and ran it successfully for many years. She broke barriers and paved the way for women in business. Her dedication and hard work were an inspiration to many.  Rita will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM followed by a Liturgical Service at Sweeney Funeral Home, 209 N. Newtown Street Rd, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery.
